Thursday, February 1
Director’s Forum: The Chisholm Trail – Cattle and Crossroads of History – Join us from 10:30am to 3:30pm for Mayborn Museum’s fourth annual Director’s Forum, as we collaborate with Texas Historical Commission to provide conversations, music, and a panel discussion on how the Chisholm Trail affected our state and its history. Following the panel, book and poster sales from the Museum Store will be available. Coffee and pastries will be provided prior to the morning and afternoon events. Admittance to the fourth annual Director’s Forum is free for members and included in general admission for the public ($8 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $6 for children).
Lyceum Concert Series: Sean Chen – American pianist Sean Chen, third prize winner of the 2013 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, has performed with many of this country’s foremost orchestras, and his solo appearances have taken him to major venues worldwide. From 7:30pm to 8:30pm, this Lyceum Series recital is free of charge and open to the public. Roxy Grove Hall.
Steinway Concert Series: The Beat Divas – Concert at McLennan Community College. Admission is free. 7:30pm in Ball Performing Arts Center.

First Friday Downtown Waco – On the First Friday of every month, businesses in downtown Waco join together to offer specials, extended hours, live music and much more. See web site for a list of participating businesses.

First Friday Trivia “RomCom” – Come have a blast at the Hippodrome every First Friday! Free admission. Brush up on your RomCom knowledge and come to Trivia Night on February 2nd! Dr. Pepper First Friday – The always amazing Dr Pepper Museum & Free Enterprise Institute is having FREE ADMISSION every single First Friday! You heard that right! From 5:30-7:30 pm in, admission is FREE!
Dichotomy University: A guide to spirits – Brandy – Introducing our First Friday Lecture Series featuring a different spirit each month. Cultivate Sound Sessions – Downtown art gallery Cultivate 7twelve is pleased to announce the kick-off of their new music series, Cultivate sound Sessions. Sensory-Friendly Matinee – The Sensory Friendly Matinee is a movie viewing especially for our visitors with special needs. The lights are not too low and the sound is not too loud. There’s plenty of room to move around and sing along! This month, join us for Big Hero 6. Hiro is thrown into the midst of danger. Downtown Waco Farmers Market – A variety of vendors featuring the best local agricultural producers and artisan vendors within 150-miles of Waco. From 9am to 1pm, join the fun every Saturday. 5th Street and Washington Avenue.
